Guizhou signs six copyright deals at 31st Beijing International Book Fair

At the 31st Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) held at the China National Convention Center from June 18 to 22, the delegation of Southwest China's Guizhou province organized six book copyright export signing ceremonies.

As the world's second-largest book fair and Asia's most international publishing platform, BIBF not only serves as a literary extravaganza, but also bridges cultural exchanges. On the opening day, the Guizhou Publishing Group's children's book brand, "Dandelion Children's Bookstore", hosted the "Chinese Stories Going Global • Hand in Hand" copyright achievement sharing and signing ceremony.

Since launching its copyright export business in 2016, Dandelion Children's Bookstore has successfully exported the rights to over 70 volumes of original Chinese picture books to more than 20 countries and regions, including the United States, France, Canada, Russia, Poland, and South Korea, covering a wide range of languages.

Collection of Southwest China's Folk Art • Batik, published by Guizhou Nationalities Publishing House, secured a copyright export agreement with Canada's Royal Collins Publishing Group. The English edition will be distributed in Canada and other nations.

On June 20, Guizhou University Press reached an export agreement with South Korea's Minsookwon Publishing for Research on Rice Cultivation Culture of China's Dong Ethnic Group. Author Cui Haiyang said at the event, "After three years of revisions, this is China's first academic monograph on Dong rice culture to be exported abroad."

On the import front, Guizhou People's Publishing House signed a copyright agreement with Germany's De Gruyter for Philosophical Anthropology, reflecting Guizhou's commitment to linking local publishing with global perspectives.
