The Fort Worth-Guiyang 2025 Youth Ambassadors Summer Camp was held from June 19 to 23 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province. The event aimed to promote cultural exchanges between Chinese and US youth, deepen mutual understanding, and build a bridge of friendly cooperation between the two cities.

Approximately 50 representatives, including teachers and students from Fort Worth and Guiyang No 1 High School, participated.

Students from both cities paired up one-on-one for a week of immersive activities. Fort Worth youth engaged with local teachers and students at Guiyang No 1 High School, the Experimental Primary School Affiliated to Guiyang Normal University, and Guiyang University, collaboratively crafting batik, embroidery, and bamboo-woven round fans to experience traditional Chinese artistry.

They visited the Guizhou Colorful Scenic Eye Cultural Park, where they delved into the richness of Guizhou's ethnic culture, and explored Qianlingshan Park, which offered immersive encounters with Guiyang's pleasant climate, cultural charm, and natural landscapes. A tour of the Bailinghe Bridge Museum showcased Guizhou's remarkable civil engineering achievements.

More than a cultural journey, the event served as a testament to the enduring ties between the Chinese and American people. "This trip brought me immense joy," said Gutierrez Aiden Manuel, a student from Fort Worth, "Witnessing the diverse cultures across Guizhou has been incredibly rewarding."

2025 marks the 16th anniversary of Guiyang and Fort Worth's sister-city relationship. Focusing on youth exchanges, the cities have organized over 140 students as youth ambassadors for cross-cultural programs. Both sides will continue to expand youth initiatives, ensuring the friendship continues among the younger generation.
