A forum themed on ecological civilization and low-carbon, resilient development practices will be held during the Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2025, scheduled to take place in July in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The forum will invite international guests, including Eszter Kelemen (president of the International Society for Ecological Economics) and Erik N. Gómez-Baggethun (incoming president of the International Society for Ecological Economics).
Discussions will address humanity's three existential crises – climate change, ecological collapse, and development imbalance – while presenting systemic solutions drawn from China's practical experience and expertise.
To enhance the forum's influence in global and domestic ecological economics, representatives from influential academic organizations, particularly the International Society for Ecological Economics and the Chinese Society of Ecological Economics, will be invited to speak.
The National "Two Mountains" Conversion Index Research Report (2023–2024) will also be released at the forum, summarizing achievements and spatial distribution patterns in converting ecological value into economic prosperity, thereby enriching practical applications.
Key insights from speakers will be disseminated via digital channels to share scholarly expertise and inform real-world implementation.
