Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has proposed enriching consumption options, and supporting craft beer brands. Today, craft beer is becoming an integral part of city life, leaving its mark on the urban landscape.
Craft beer consumption scenarios have expanded from traditional bars and gatherings to include home drinking, family gatherings, travel, and outdoor camping. Brands like Dasheng and Liquid Workshop have introduced cans, freeing Guizhou craft beer from its bar confines and turning it into a staple in family fridges.
"Liquid Workshop operates breweries in Guiyang and Chongqing, distributing products to Yunnan, Sichuan, Hunan, Hubei, Guangxi, and beyond," Chen Chong noted, expressing hopes for more Guizhou craft beers on dining tables nationwide.
Additionally, TripSmith, regarded as a craft beer pioneer, runs eight outlets in Guiyang's urban core, with 80 percent of sales targeting first-tier cities, making its products visible in convenience stores and bars nationwide.
Guiyang's craft culture thrives not just in brewing but in deep fusion with local traditions. Xihuo Tavern exemplifies this with brews that blend cinnamon spices and tea notes, or infuse Bouyei ethnic black glutinous rice wine with blackcurrant juice, showcasing regional flavors.
Jing-A Brewing – a top domestic craft beer brand – opened its Southwest China debut on April 18 in Taiping Road. Jing-A melds premium craft with unique Guiyang culture, offering award-winning brews while pioneering local innovations, such as a potential fish mint beer, for an unprecedented taste adventure.
