The Geely Galaxy A7, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle produced by Geely Auto's Guiyang manufacturing base in Southwest China's Guizhou province, is now available for pre-sale with a starting price of 97,800 yuan ($13,600) and will launch on Aug 8.
With a full tank and fully charged battery, it achieves a combined range exceeding 2,100 kilometers and can recharge from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.
In May, during a range verification test conducted by Geely Galaxy and the China Automotive Technology and Research Center in Hainan's sustained high temperatures above 30 C, the GPS-recorded distance traveled by the Galaxy A7 even surpassed its indicated range display, signifying a range achievement rate exceeding 100 percent.
Since Geely Auto established its Guiyang base in 2015, it has introduced and nurtured over 40 renowned auto parts enterprises. These cover critical areas such as automotive engines, power batteries, seats, and braking systems. The localization rate of supporting industries has reached 48 percent, providing over 10,000 jobs across the industrial chain and generating an output value exceeding 20 billion yuan.
In 2024, Geely's Guiyang manufacturing base achieved an annual vehicle production volume of 130,000 units and an output value surpassing 13 billion yuan. The Geely Galaxy E5, also produced at the Guiyang base, is Geely's first globally developed model targeting both domestic and international markets.
It has already secured the position as China's top-exported A-segment battery-electric SUV in at least 35 countries and regions, including Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Greece, and Brazil.
