David Bisceglia, a member of the Public Venue Supervision Committee of the Rome Metropolitan Area in Italy, led a delegation to visit the Miao and Dong Medicine Branch of the China Pharmaceutical Culture Society on March 29 in Kaili, a county-level city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, to experience Miao and Dong medicine.
Wang Changguo, a senior advisor to the association and a representative of Miao medicine heritage, provided the delegation with an immersive experience. Utilizing precise pulse diagnosis techniques, Wang captured subtle changes in pulse patterns, analyzed health conditions, and explained the principles and characteristics of Miao pulse diagnosis, with Bisceglia expressing great amazement at the diagnostic accuracy.
Bisceglia also noted that Miao and Dong medicine possesses not only a systematic and complete theoretical framework but also immense practical value, and was impressed by its profound cultural heritage and its pragmatic, efficient approach to diagnosis and treatment.
Wang stated that the association will continue to push for Miao and Dong medicine to go global while focusing on protecting and inheriting intangible cultural heritage and cultivating professional talent, aiming to build more platforms for exchanges between Chinese and foreign traditional medicine.
