Located within the karst canyon of Maoyun township in Kaiyang county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, lies Shiwanxi waterfall group, a hidden scenic area currently under development.

Every year from May to September, the southwest monsoon brings abundant rainfall to Guizhou, causing the canyon's water volume to surge. It is during this time that the multi-tiered waterfalls cascade downward, with the largest vertical drop reaching 100 meters.

The must-visit part of the waterfall group is the Erchengtan waterfall. The first tier of the waterfall roars straight down between two emerald peaks, plunging 80 meters down the cliff face to form a massive water curtain 5 to 10 meters wide.

The second tier reveals an entirely different style. With a drop of up to 100 meters, this high-water season transforms it into a 20-meter-wide, multi-tiered cascade, where thousands of streams morph into countless water veils.

Visitors should note that the Shiwanxi waterfall group is still under development, and safety infrastructure is currently incomplete. Explorers should travel in groups, ensure they have adequate equipment, and choose clear, sunny weather for their journey.
