The 2026 Matcha Conference is underway in Jiangkou county, Tongren city, Southwest China's Guizhou province, bringing together domestic and international industry experts, government officials, corporate executives, and business leaders from May 31 to June 1 to discuss the innovative upgrading of the matcha industry and map out strategies for global market expansion.
According to the 2026 China Matcha Industry Development Report, which was released during the event's opening ceremony, China's matcha production has grown at a compound annual rate of 28.67 percent over the past five years, with the industry seeing explosive growth in export volume, supply chain integration, and the number of enterprises.
Products such as Tongren's Fanjing Matcha and Zhejiang's Jingshan Matcha are now exported to over 50 countries and regions worldwide. The industry has transitioned from low-end original equipment manufacturing to becoming a core supplier for the global premium matcha market.
The conference features a series of synchronized events, including industry development exchange forums, a national matcha supply chain achievement exhibition, and field trips exploring Tongren's local matcha industry.
From cultivation and technology to branding and marketing, the conference connects the entire supply chain to establish an integrated platform for industrial exchanges and cooperation.
