Crossing, a major revolutionary historical film commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Red Army's Long March victory, premiered on June 9 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province. The film is set to hit theaters nationwide on June 26.

Crossing follows the Red Army during the Long March as they break through a desperate impasse following the Battle of the Xiangjiang River. Utilizing a modern perspective, innovative storytelling, and cutting-edge filmmaking technology, the film recreates the thrilling and legendary campaign known as the "Four Crossings of the Chishui River".

Focusing on this classic example of military strategy, the film uses a fresh audiovisual language to fully depict pivotal historical events, including the Battles of Tucheng and Loushanguan, the tactical maneuvering across the Chishui River, and the strategic advance on Guiyang.

It also pays close attention to poignant human-interest details, such as the Red Army opening granaries to distribute salt to locals at Erlangtan. Key historic turning points, including the Zunyi Conference, the capture of Zunyi city, and the Gouba Conference, are all brought to life on screen, offering audiences a more dynamic and comprehensive view of this legendary campaign.

At the premiere, attendees were moved by the film's historical texture and heroic spirit. "The film uses authentic details to bring this great expedition to life, making this piece of history tangible and deeply moving," noted one viewer. "It truly makes you realize just how hard-fought our peace was."
