Historical film Crossing premieres in Guizhou

The national premiere of Crossing was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on June 9, with the film scheduled for nationwide release on June 26.

At the premiere, the main creative team took the stage together to share their journeys during filming. Chief producer Yu Dong said, "Crossing tells a story about ideals, courage, and wisdom. Without the land of Guizhou, there would be no 'Four Crossings of the Chishui River.' I want to thank the landscapes and the people of Guizhou for providing the most authentic backdrop for this film. It allows me to see that the spirit of 90 years ago is still growing and being passed down on this red soil today."

Director Xu Zhanxiong expressed hope that, through the film, audiences can feel that a desperate situation is not the end but a starting point for redefining themselves.

The film's theme song, Du (the crossing), performed by vocalist Zhou Shen, was also released at the premiere, with Zhou performing it live for the first time during the ceremony that evening.

As a Guizhou native, Zhou noted that his greatest honor would be for the song to move audiences, inspire respect for their ancestors, and encourage them to visit his hometown Guizhou.
