A celebration marking the 2026 UN "International Day of Dialogue among Civilizations", the "Guizhou Colorido" performance was held on June 12 in Santiago, the capital of Chile.

The performance kicked off with the resonant sounds of lusheng (reed pipe) and mangtong (bamboo pipe), as performers dressed in Guizhou's traditional ethnic costumes sang the Welcoming Wine Song.

The show highlighted the heritage and charm of Guizhou's ethnic cultures through song and dance shows. Performers from the Guizhou Provincial Song and Dance Theatre presented the Dong ethnic song and dance Green Mountains and Lucid Waters, and the instrumental piece Duet of Forest Sounds played on traditional wood leaves and lusheng, earning prolonged applause from the audience.

Francisco Solanich Aguirre, regional ministerial secretary of cultures, arts, and heritage for Chile's Santiago Metropolitan Region, noted that this cultural exchange event allowed the Chilean people to experience high-quality artistic works up close, alongside Guizhou's intangible cultural heritage and folk traditions.

Niu Qingbao, Chinese ambassador to Chile, hopes that this event, together with the China Cultural Center in Santiago as a new starting point, would enable both sides to work hand in hand so that the outcomes of cultural exchange and mutual learning benefit the people of both countries.
