The 2026 Guiyang Youth Climate Week commenced on July 1, with more than 30 scholars and students from over 10 countries arriving in Guizhou to explore approaches to tackling climate change.
As part of the Symposium 2026 for Eco Forum Global Guiyang, this event aims to allow domestic and international youth to learn firsthand about China's innovative practices in green transition and sustainable development through a variety of activities, including corporate visits, specialized exchange sessions, and field trips.
A summer fieldwork team of scholars and students from Tsinghua University, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, the London School of Economics and Political Science, Sciences Po, and Yale University will travel across Guiyang, Zunyi, and the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture.
Through academic lectures, national condition studies, cultural immersion, and intellectual exchanges, they will experience the real-world influence of Guizhou's ecological initiatives firsthand.
Guizhou has encouraged youth participation in advancing its ecological civilization, with the Digital Ecology International Innovation Base (Climate X Practice Base) established during the "Youth Forum on International Climate and Environmental Governance" at the Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2025. By combining the incubation of innovative projects with the cultivation of young leaders, the base aims to turn green concepts into tangible action.
