The China-ASEAN Lifelong Education Cooperation Alliance was established on July 30 during the 2026 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The alliance, initiated by schools, institutions, and organizations engaged in lifelong education both domestically and internationally, aims to build an ongoing cooperation platform for lifelong education oriented toward ASEAN.

Guided by the Open University of China and the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, the permanent body of the alliance is served by Guizhou Open University.

The Open University of China's digital platform has served over 50 million users and established nearly 70,000 learning centers for elderly education across the country, delivering high-quality resources to grassroots and remote areas.

Guizhou Open University has established more than 400 teaching centers covering urban and rural areas throughout the province, providing over 10,000 digital curriculum resources and setting up credit accounts for nearly 10,000 learners.

The university has also established an overseas learning center in Laos, where its vocational standards have received recognition from the Lao government, providing systematic instruction to hundreds of ASEAN students.

The alliance will carry out practical cooperation in areas such as curriculum resource development, standard alignment, and faculty exchanges, providing institutional guarantees for the coordinated development of regional lifelong education.
