Experts explore China-ASEAN educational development in Guizhou

The 6th Southeast Asia-China Education Research Network Meeting was held on July 29 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, with attendees including representatives from government departments, universities, and research institutions across China and Southeast Asia.

Under the theme "Artificial Intelligence, Education, and Sustainable Development: Strategic Choices for China and Southeast Asia," participating delegates shared their respective countries' policies and practices.

The meeting reviewed the China-Southeast Asia Education Research Network Work Plan (2026–27), which delegates approved after incorporating feedback and revisions from representatives of Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week.

The work plan outlines key research directions, joint research topics, and major event arrangements for the next two years.

Since its establishment in 2012, the Southeast Asia-China Education Research Network has hosted network conferences in Guiyang, Beijing, Guilin, Bangkok (Thailand), and Siem Reap (Cambodia). By conducting cooperative research, the network has established a cross-border education policy dialogue mechanism.
