Guizhou showcases intangible cultural heritage in Beijing

The Guizhou Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and Traditional Style Market has opened at Beijing's Beihai Park and will run until Aug 31, featuring performances of Miao lusheng dances, Dong grand songs, and Anshun Dixi Opera that showcase the charm of Guizhou's ethnic cultures.

The opening-day market on Aug 22 featured multiple interactive zones alongside captivating ICH performances, while a "craftsmanship heritage" interactive workshop has invited a national-level inheritor of the Shui script customs to teach visitors how to write Shui characters.

The "shared beauty of traditional attire" zone offers hanfu experiences as well as traditional festival garments of the Miao and Dong ethnic groups, allowing visitors to take photos amid the royal garden's lotus pond scenery and experience the aesthetics of Chinese attire.

The cultural-creative exhibition and culinary experience zones highlight Guizhou's finest products, with ICH creative items, such as Miao embroidery, batik, and Shui horsehair embroidery, making a prominent appearance.

Specialty agricultural products like cili (chestnut rose) juice, Xingren adlay, and Tongren matcha are helping bring Guizhou goods out of the mountains. Meanwhile, authentic Guizhou local delicacies like Anshun grilled small intestines, crispy pork lardons, and beef rice noodles offer visitors authentic Guizhou flavors without leaving the capital.
