The South Korean premiere ceremony of the TV drama Deep in the Wumeng Mountains was held on Aug 24 in Seoul, capital of South Korea, marking the anniversary of the country's establishment of diplomatic relations with China.

At the ceremony, Guiyang Jiaying Film & Television Media Co signed cooperation agreements with South Korea's Gyeong-in Television (OBS) and Educational Broadcasting System (EBS), while a Guizhou delegation delivered presentations on tourism and Chinese baijiu.

Yang Yoon-ho, a director, vice-chairman of the Korea Film Council, and Chairman of the Federation of Korean Film Artists, congratulated the drama's release in South Korea. "The show focuses on an ordinary village in the Wumeng mountainous area of Guizhou, China, and chronicles how a group of young people stay rooted in their hometowns, pursue their aspirations, and ultimately realize their dreams. The drama's genuine emotions and fighting spirit serve as a universal language that crosses borders and resonates with audiences," he remarked.

Shot on location in Guizhou and inspired by real-life stories, Deep in the Wumeng Mountains showcases the region's stunning natural landscapes, rich ethnic cultures, harmonious rural customs, and its brand-new development outlook. The drama will soon air on South Korea's OBS and Thailand's Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Station.

Taking the overseas release of this TV drama as an opportunity, Guizhou also hosted a joint tourism and economic promotion event, where more than 10 high-quality enterprises from the tourism and Chinese baijiu sectors delivered a comprehensive showcase to international partners.
