Guiyang Open 2026 set for September kick-off

The Guiyang Open 2026 will take place from Sept 6 to 20 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, offering free admission upon presenting an ID card.

This year's tournament combines men's and women's events into a continuous 15-day schedule, offering a total prize pool of $70,000 across women's singles, women's doubles, men's singles, and men's doubles.

The schedule is divided into two phases: the women's tournament runs from Sept 6 to 13, followed by the men's tournament from Sept 13 to 20. A total of 160 athletes representing 32 countries and regions will compete on the same stage.

Headlined by top Chinese star Bai Zhuoxuan, who reached a career-high world ranking of 83rd, a strong lineup of domestic and international elites, including Luca Castelnuovo, Ma Yexin, Colin Sinclair, and Stefania Bojica, will gather in Guiyang to deliver a high-caliber sports feast.

Concurrent outreach events will also be held in schools and communities to plant the seeds of tennis and bring competitive sports closer to everyday residents.

Players will also explore local shopping districts and neighborhoods to experience traditional folk culture. Through the eyes of international athletes, they will help promote "Colorful Guizhou" and "Cool Guiyang" to a global audience, further driving Guizhou's integration of culture, sports, and tourism.
