2026 UCI Asian Mountain Bike Series-Guiyang concludes

The 2026 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Asian Mountain Bike Series-Guiyang concluded on Sept 6 at Guizhou Industry Polytechnic University (Qingzhen Campus), Southwest China's Guizhou province.

As a UCI-certified continental points race, the event brought together 226 athletes from 16 teams representing six countries and regions across Asia. Capitalizing on Guizhou's unique karst mountain terrain, the two-day event featured elite cross-country racing.

The opening day featured two professional events – the cross-country short track (XCC) and the cross-country eliminator (XCE) – alongside concurrent races for the open, masters, and youth groups.

On the following day, the cross-country Olympic (XCO) finals got underway for all categories. The 3.5-kilometer lap featured complex terrain with varied slopes and dense technical obstacles. It offered high athletic and viewing value, putting competitors' endurance, cornering skills, obstacle negotiation, and tactical adaptability to the ultimate test.

The event gave domestic cyclists a premier stage to earn international points, sharpen their skills, and gain global exposure. At the same time, it solidified Guizhou's reputation as a top-tier destination for mountain outdoor sports, boosting the province's high-quality mountain sports and cultural tourism industries.
