China-Vietnam youth trace heritage and modern industry in Guizhou

The 2026 China-Vietnam Youth International Communication Event continued its journey on Sept 19, taking a delegation of participants to explore a blend of revolutionary history and advanced manufacturing in Zunyi, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The delegation visited the Four Crossings of the Chishui River Memorial Hall, exploring exhibits that chronicle how the Red Army outmaneuvered overwhelming forces through brilliant tactical maneuvers.

A highlight was the China Female Red Army Memorial Museum — the country's only specialized venue dedicated to the heroines of the Long March. Delegates viewed historical artifacts, including worn straw sandals and faded letters, reflecting on the courage of 731 female soldiers. The morning concluded with a tour of Tucheng Ancient Town, where preserved Ming and Qing (1368-1911) dynasty architecture stands as a testament to both ancient commercial prosperity and enduring revolutionary history.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited Guizhou Tyre Co. As a key player in commercial tire manufacturing with established operations in Vietnam, the company showcased its journey toward global expansion, exporting products to over 140 countries and regions, with overseas sales accounting for more than 40 percent of its total sales.

The delegates toured the company’s advanced facility, gaining insight into its recent induction into the World Economic Forum's Global Lighthouse Network, a milestone marking a technological breakthrough for both Guizhou and China's tire industry.
