Southwest China's Guizhou province welcomed 252,355 tourists from Hong Kong and 21,588 tourists from Macao in the first three quarters of this year, marking year-on-year increases of 56.9 percent and 39.21 percent, respectively.

Hong Kong ranked second and Macao seventh in temporary accommodation rankings for inbound visitors, with summer data from Ctrip further highlighting this trend, naming Hong Kong Guizhou's top source of inbound tourists.

"The proportion of tourists from Hong Kong and Macao in our inbound receptions is expanding continuously," said Rong Xiaoxiao, secretary-general of the Guizhou-Hong Kong-Macao Tourism Alliance. "Whether looking at booking windows or repeat visitor rates, the Hong Kong and Macao markets are showing an upward trend."

Following positive feedback on an initial six-day Guizhou tour, Hong Kong's Fly Everywhere Travel Co launched an extended eight-day tour option. Similarly, in response to rising repeat purchases of Guizhou tours, Hong Kong's A-One Sightseeing Ltd has introduced new customized small-group services capped at under 10 people.

Inbound tourism policies have driven soaring repeat rates. In March this year, the Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism rolled out an inbound tourism incentive package worth nearly 100 million yuan ($14.95 million), featuring scenic spot ticket discounts, tiered rewards for agencies bringing in visitors, and subsidies for international air routes.

At the same time, Guizhou has actively implemented the 240-hour visa-free transit policy and established an international visitor service center in the arrival hall of Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, cutting average customs clearance time by 25 percent.
