The 2026 Luodian Qiannan Guizhou Hongshuihe Fishing Cup is underway from Oct 23 to 25 in Luodian county, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Nearly a hundred teams from across the country have gathered for a 48-hour endurance fishing competition. Divided into four zones via a random draw, participants are required to stay in their assigned spots.
Strict regulations regarding rods, hooks, bait, and casting methods have been put in place to prevent rule-breaking right from the start. After weighing, all catches are released back into the water. In particular, any rare sesame swordfish must be returned to the river immediately, underscoring a strong commitment to eco-friendly and responsible angling.
Luodian has become a regular host of national fishing competitions thanks to its many expansive waterways. With over 300 square kilometers of surface area and 39 major rivers teeming with diverse fish species, paired with a cozy winter climate averaging 19.6 C, it offers an unmatched year-round angling experience.
Through years of dedicated promotion, events like the Hongshuihe Fishing Cup and the Yuhu Leisure Fishing Rally have grown in influence, drawing angling teams from provinces and municipalities nationwide.
