Guizhou Hankaisi Intelligent Technology Co (PIX Moving), a robotics company based in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, has signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation with the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority in the United Arab Emirates.

PIX Moving's self-developed and manufactured autonomous shuttle, RoboBus, also known as the "Potato Bus", will begin pilot testing and localization efforts in the UAE. The initiative marks another step in bringing Guizhou's technological innovations to the Middle East.

Unlike conventional vehicles retrofitted with autonomous driving systems, PIX Moving's RoboBus is designed from the ground up as an autonomous mobile space. It has no traditional driving controls, such as a steering wheel or accelerator pedals, with its design placing greater emphasis on the passenger experience.

Beyond short-distance public transport, the vehicle can meet a range of mobility needs at resorts, industrial parks and transport hubs, while also offering potential applications in mobile leisure and supporting services.

Ras Al Khaimah is accelerating the development of high-end resort hotels, creating strong demand for short-distance transport between coastal resorts, hotel clusters and commercial areas. This creates an ideal environment for exploring new applications of the RoboBus.

Over the years, PIX Moving's products and projects have reached more than 30 countries and regions worldwide, with public-road testing, demonstration operations and localized cooperation carried out in Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and other markets.
