A press conference for the 2026 International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports (MTOS) was held on Nov 5 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province. At the event, organizers announced that Guizhou's "Village Dance" will be a major highlight of this year's conference.

An ethnic song and dance production inspired by Guizhou's "Village Dance" will be staged on Nov 9. Set against the backdrop of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge construction, the production blends folk art with various forms of intangible cultural heritage.

Throughout the conference, "Village Dance" performers will stage welcoming flash-mob performances at Xingyi Airport and Xingyinan Railway Station, giving guests from home and abroad a warm first impression of the hospitality and sincerity of local communities in Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture.

Performances will also be arranged at key tourist destinations along popular travel routes, including Wanfenglin Scenic Area and the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge. By bringing performances into picturesque natural settings, organizers aim to create immersive shows against the backdrop of Guizhou's spectacular landscapes.

In addition, "Village Dance" performances will be featured at the conference opening ceremony and the "Night of Wanfenglin" event, allowing guests to experience vibrant local culture in a variety of settings.
