The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened on Nov 5 in Shanghai. Eleven companies from Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, made an appearance in the China Time-Honored Brands exhibition area, using this national-level platform to showcase high-quality local products and explore opportunities in global markets.
The products on display covered a wide range of categories, including tea, dairy products, prepared foods, ready-to-eat snacks, and original cultural creative products. A total of 128 Guiyang companies, represented by 428 registered delegates, are participating in this year's expo. Business representatives have traveled to Shanghai to explore different exhibition areas, learn about international market trends, and seek new opportunities for trade and economic cooperation.
During the expo, a Guiyang delegation also visited the headquarters of major companies to explore potential cooperation. The delegation aims to attract more leading enterprises to invest in Guiyang, and encourage them to purchase specialty products from Guizhou and establish two-way trade channels.
Since its launch in 2018, CIIE has become an important platform for international procurement, investment promotion, cultural exchange, and open cooperation. Running through Nov 10, this year's expo has attracted participants from 162 countries, regions and international organizations, with 4,142 overseas companies exhibiting.
Looking ahead, Guiyang plans to provide ongoing support to facilitate cooperation projects, expand the number of foreign trade businesses, open more import and export channels for local specialty products, and make greater use of national-level exhibitions to promote international trade, economic exchanges, and investment.
