According to the latest statistics, Southwest China's Guizhou province achieved 92.65 billion yuan ($14.30 billion) in agricultural product sales last year, a year-on-year increase of 189 percent.

In 2020, the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce strived to coordinate the production and sales of agricultural products from poverty-stricken areas. Special sales areas were established in major agricultural wholesale markets and supermarkets to support poverty alleviation.

The department also organized 186 group meal delivery companies to cooperate with 500 agricultural product plantation bases and encouraged cities in South and East China to purchase agricultural products from Guizhou's impoverished areas.

So far, six cities and prefectures in Guizhou became vegetable suppliers for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Also, 64 agricultural product production entities in the province have been recognized as supply bases for the Greater Bay Area, and 83 supermarkets have been established to sell Guizhou's featured food.

The commerce department has helped 127 State-owned companies to transform into agricultural product circulation companies, equipped 100 farmer's markets with information technologies and built 87 centralized vegetable delivery centers.

By 2020, Guizhou had trained about 10,000 rural e-commerce employees and agents, established an official online agricultural product sales platform, recognized eight counties as national rural e-commerce demonstration counties, established 169 refrigerated storage facilities and added 203 cold chain transportation cars.
