Guizhou's businesses flourish in current year

Businesses of various kinds – ranging from sole proprietorships to partnerships and large companies – have continued to grow at a brisk pace in Southwest China's Guizhou province in the current year, according to the latest statistics.

Figures released recently by the province's Administration for Market Regulation indicated that there were 3.66 million business entities in May, with a total registered capital of 8.56 trillion yuan ($1.33 trillion).

Those numbers were up 16.23 percent and 11.22 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Guiyang, Zunyi and Bijie were Guizhou's top three cities in terms of market entity volume and registered capital, contributing 54.8 percent and 61.52 percent to the province's total, respectively.

Guizhou's top three industries with the greatest number of individual businesses were the wholesale and retail trade industry, the accommodation and catering industry, and the neighborhood services and repair services sector. The statistics showed that these contributed 47.44 percent, 13.73 percent and 7.89 percent respectively to the total number of businesses in Guizhou.

The top three industries with the most registered capital in Guizhou were the rental and business services sector, construction industry and the wholesale and retail trade industry – with 3.23 trillion yuan, 1.26 trillion yuan and 1.14 trillion yuan of registered capital, respectively.

Breaking the numbers down, the statistics showed by on May 25, Guizhou had 267,200 business entities with 544.82 billion yuan of registered capital in the primary industry. The province had 295,200 business entities with 2.15 trillion yuan of registered capital in the secondary industry, and 3.09 million business entities with 5.87 trillion yuan of registered capital in the tertiary industry.

Guizhou also had 81,200 non-private enterprises with registered capital of 3.62 trillion yuan, 785,700 private enterprises with registered capital of 4.39 trillion yuan and 3,262 foreign-funded enterprises – as well as 2.72 million self-employed business entities and 65,600 agricultural cooperatives.
