The 2021 Guizhou Health Industry Forum was held on June 17 in Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – and about 400 companies from inside and outside the region attended the event.

The forum aimed to promote exchanges and business between health enterprises, introduce Guizhou's medicines to more people and help establish health industry clusters and headquarters economy hubs.

During the forum, Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Fan Daiming and Shi Luwen, director of the international study center for medicine management at Peking University, shared their theoretical research and experience in the sector.

Both guests also discussed policies, approaches and the health industry's high-quality development with representatives of various leading health groups.

Guiyang's Nanming and Huaxi districts, as well as Zunyi's Meitan county, held a marketing event at the forum to showcase what they had to offer and to attract more investment.

In recent years, Guizhou has launched a raft of policies to boost the development of the health industry and its integration with big data, the environment and tourism.

This has seen the health sector become a main contributor to the growth of the province's economy.
