Southwest China's Guizhou province recently released its first list of revolutionary cultural relics, including 604 immovable relics and 112 movable ones.

Since 2020, Guizhou has screened the number and preservation condition of its revolutionary cultural relics – including historical sites and facilities related to the modern history of China.

The list includes relics covering Guizhou's cities and counties that have witnessed important events during China's historical periods. About 57 percent of the list's relics are related to the history of the Long March.

They fall into different categories, such as Party organizations, historical sites of key conferences, ruins of major battles and other memorial facilities.

Among the 604 immovable relics, 16 are national protected heritage sites and 208 are provincial protected heritage sites. All the 112 movable relics are precious museum collections, with a high historical value.

Guizhou is home to more than 2,000 revolutionary cultural relics, accounting for 5.5 percent of China's total immovable relics.

In the future, plans are for Guizhou to increase the protection and utilization of its cultural relics – to carry forward the revolutionary spirit, pass on the revolution's traditions and look forward to future developments.
