From July 1, some 2,241 government affairs services in Southwest China's Guizhou province became much more accessible and applicants can now apply for them at the nearest government affairs service hall.

The services include social insurance, public security, transportation, medical treatment, education, housing insurance and more. It is expected that individuals and businesses will save on time and application materials when applying for government affairs in the future.

Since last year, Guizhou has been increasing moves to streamline its administration, delegate powers and improve regulations and services. It removed a regional restriction for government affairs services, to provide more convenience for people.

By May 28, Guizhou's government affairs service halls had set up 717 application windows and 109 express mail service windows and handled more than 1.8 million government affairs applications.

It is estimated that Guizhou has by May 28 helped people save 54 million yuan ($8.33 million) in costs and reduced 2.7 million trips for applications.

The projections are that by the end of 2021, more than 3,000 government affairs services at the village, township, county and city levels will be accessible from anywhere in the province.
