The Dafaqu Bridge – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province and part of the Renhuai-Zunyi Expressway – was conjoined on both sides on July 22, and when fully completed, it will become the world's widest structure of its kind.

The bridge is 1,427 meters long and 33 meters wide.

It is named after the Dafa canal, which was built under the leadership of Huang Dafa, helping lift Tuanjie village in Guizhou province out of poverty. Huang was the village's former Party chief and he was awarded with the July 1 Medal, the highest honor in the Party.

The Dafa canal became a national 3A-level scenic spot in 2019 and a national hydrotherapy center in 2020. When the bridge opens to traffic, the drive time between Zunyi's urban area to Tuanjie village will be shortened from 2 hours to 20 minutes.

The bridge will also connect Tuanjie village to the neighboring Huamao and Gouba villages, cutting traffic congestion in Huichuan district's Zhima town and Songlin town, as well as in Renhuai city's Xitou town and Tanchang town.

The bridge is expected to improve traffic flows, promote local tourism and the sales of agricultural products, increasing people's incomes.
