Located in Liupanshui city in Southwest China's Guizhou province, the Liupanshui Meihua (plum blossom) Mountain Scenic Area is about 5 kilometers away from downtown. The mountain got its name from being shaped like a plum blossom.

As a national 4A-level tourist attraction, the scenic area has a planned area of about 67.21 square kilometers, with 30.98 sq km of core areas.

It boasts Meihua Mountain cableway, which is hailed as the world's longest running cableway at 9.9 km, with a vertical height difference of 620 meters.

Meihua Mountain International Ski Resort – the largest in Southwest China – is also located in the scenic area. It covers an area of 1.09 million square meters with ski trails, hotels, a tourist information center, support facilities, and has a whopping total investment of 189 million yuan ($29.26 million),.

The ski trails cover an area of 91,700 sq m, and a total length of 1,880 meters. Primary, intermediate, and senior trails are available to skiers, as well as outdoor sports projects such as skiing, grass skating, climbing, Counter Strike cosplay games, and slideway games.

A children's playground – named Meihua Mountain Fairy Park – was just completed in July this year, covering an area of 69.58 mu (4.64 hectares). Children can have fun and interact with their parents here.

The scenic area also has a glass suspension bridge stretching 366 meters between two steep mountains, which is built at an elevation of 2,300 meters, and is 3.3 meters wide. The visually stimulating 5D glass fragmentation effect on the glass bridge and other forms of entertainment attract many tourists every year.

Visitors can enjoy plum blossoms in spring, escape the heat in summer, relax in autumn, and ski during the winter.

Since its establishment, it has been rated as one of the top 30 ski resorts in China, and one of Guizhou's most satisfying tourism destinations, to say the least.
