Guizhou province unveils delegation for 14th National Games

Southwest China's Guizhou province recently announced its sports delegation in the capital Guiyang that is heading off to the 14th National Games – to be staged in Xi'an city in Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Sept 15-17.

According to the announcement on Aug 19, Guizhou will send 329 athletes to the games – as well as coaches and technical officials. Some 170 athletes have already qualified for the finals of 121 events. More than 50 percent of the team's athletes were born in the year 2000 and subsequently.

Guizhou will also send another 451 amateur athletes to compete at 19 events, such as balloon volleyball, Chinese chess and in the shuttlecock competitions.

It is understood that Guizhou will closely observe novel coronavirus pandemic prevention and control rules to guarantee the safety of the delegation, as well as heartily encourage its members to reach for success at the National Games.
