The 2021 Smart China Expo was held in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on Aug 23-25 – attracting the conventional and online participation of more than 600 companies, including those from Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The three-day event focused on the latest developments in the industrial internet and staged various forums, exhibitions, competitions, product release conferences and business promotion events.

At the on-site exhibition, Guizhou's technology companies presented the case for applying their digital technologies in industries and in new infrastructure. Guizhou also joined the expo's online exhibition.

In recent years, the province has continued with its big data institutional innovation, as well as its merging and utilization of data centers. It has also continued with its opening and sharing of data, innovative applications of big data, development of big data clusters, circulation and trade in big data, as well as cooperation in domestic and international big data.

The Big Data Expo, held annually in May in Guiyang, has become an international event that is leading the development of the global big data industry, sharing China's development experience in the field with the world.

As a neighboring province of Chongqing, Guizhou is seeking to cooperate with the former in big data intelligentization. Guizhou reportedly believes that the Smart China Expo and the Big Data Expo will become bridges for Guizhou and Chongqing to achieve mutual gains.
