Southwest China's Guizhou province reported two asymptomatic COVID-19 cases on Oct 25, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to six, with another six asymptomatic cases – all reported by the city of Zunyi – according to the Guizhou Health Commission.

To prevent and control the virus, Zunyi has organized three rounds of nucleic acid testing in four days for all residents in the Honghuagang, Huichuan and Bozhou districts and Xinpu New Area.

The first round of nucleic acid testing started on Oct 23 and set up 1,001 sampling sites, manned by 6,043 staff members. It was completed on Oct 25 and took samples from 1.68 million people, with all test results proving negative.

The second round of testing is currently underway.

According to a news conference held by the Zunyi municipal government on Oct 25, the city screened 278 people who had close contact with the confirmed cases.

The remaining contacts of the confirmed and asymptomatic cases have also been screened and have undergone nucleic acid testing.
