After about two weeks of treatment, two COVID-19 cases were reportedly discharged on Nov 3 from the Jiangjunshan Hospital in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – with the other 10 patients in a stable condition and remaining under treatment.

Jiangjunshan Hospital was designated a hospital for treating COVID-19 cases after Zunyi city in northern Guizhou reported an outbreak on Oct 19. All the patients were transferred to the hospital and quarantines were established for their further treatment.

According to the hospital, the outbreak in Zunyi was caused by the Delta variant, which is highly contagious. Most of the cases reported in Zunyi were elderly people who had various underlying conditions, leading to their infection progressing rapidly and making it harder for them to be treated.

It is understood that the hospital collected Guizhou's best medical resources to treat the patients. Those in a serious condition were offered a targeted treatment plan.

The discharged patients will now reportedly receive rehabilitation therapy to help them fully recover.
