Newly confirmed COVID-19 case reported in Guizhou

Southwest China's Guizhou province on Nov 4 reported one confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 case and no suspected cases, according to the Guizhou Health Commission.

The confirmed case – reported in the city of Zunyi in northern Guizhou – is a man who is understood to have come into close contact with previous cases. He was detected as nucleic acid positive during quarantine on Nov 3 and was transferred to Guiyang's Jiangjunshan Hospital for further treatment.

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus last year, Guizhou has reported 158 locally transmitted cases and one imported case. Currently, Guizhou has eight cases undergoing treatment.

The Guizhou Health Commission said it was reminding all its citizens to wear masks, wash their hands, keep rooms ventilated, avoid crowds and for people to maintain a social distance.
