The China-ASEAN Culture and Art Education Development Forum was held on Nov 12, both on-site and online, at Xingyi Normal University for Nationalities – located in the Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The forum was jointly organized by China, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam and was a part of the China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week. Chinese and international experts were invited to share their research achievements and experience in culture and art education.

At the forum, Xingyi Normal University for Nationalities signed cooperation agreements with the Philippine Christian University and South Korea's Hallym University.

The university has also held activities for China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week since 2016 and during those five years, it has reportedly forged close links with universities from ASEAN countries.

Benefiting from the Belt and Road Initiative, Qianxinan has developed creative culture industry, health maintenance industry and outdoor sports relying on its rich history, ethnic culture and natural resources.

As Qianxinan's only university, Xingyi Normal University for Nationalities has applied for several national and provincial key research projects and is understood to have made contributions to the region's training and development of people, technological innovation and culture heritage.
