Guizhou sees increase in digital economy talent

According to the Big Data Development Administration of Guizhou, the province in Southwest China had 364,200 digital economy talents in 2020, an increase of 163.91 percent from 2016 to 2020.

Among the 364,200 talents, 176,000 were involved in digital industrialization, and 188,200 were involved in industrial digitization.

The administration has established think tanks, attracted investment, expanded industrial scale, and attracted talents with projects and platforms, forming a big data talent cultivation system for both employees and students.

So far, Guizhou has established 27 provincial big data innovation centers, as well as a number of innovation and entrepreneurship bases, and launched 43 policies related to digital economy talents to attract, cultivate and employ talent.

The administration also cooperated with some of China's most famous universities, such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Tsinghua University, to support majors related to big data.
