Guizhou's industrial added value gains top national average

In November, Southwest China's Guizhou province saw rapid growth in its industrial added value, which increased by 18.5 percent year-on-year and was 14.7 percentage points higher than national average.

Guizhou's added value for light industry surged by 36.1 percent year-on-year, with a growth rate that was 16.3 percentage points higher than that in October. The added value of heavy industry increased by 7.1 percent year-on-year, with a growth rate 3.6 percentage points higher than the previous month's.

Among Guizhou's 39 industries, 24 recorded gains in November, 20 of them achieving double-digit growth.

The total added value of Guizhou's alcoholic beverages, coal and tobacco industries increased by 38 percent year-on-year in November, a growth rate 19.5 percentage points above the provincial average.

From January to October, Guizhou's industrial companies above a designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($3.1 million) – achieved a combined 791.56 billion yuan of business revenue and 93.78 billion yuan of profit, respective increases of 17.5 percent and 31.4 percent year-on-year.

During the first 11 months, the added value in the province of industries above a designated size increased by 12.1 percent, with an average annual growth rate of 8 percent over the last two years.
