The 11th representative conference of the CPC of Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – wrapped up on Dec 21, capping off an event during which Guiyang's 10th Party committee reported its achievements and set out future goals.

During the past five years, Guiyang reportedly saw substantive progress made in the real economy and expansion of its big data industry – as well as integrated development with the nearby Guian New Area and gains made in environmental protection and improvement of its people's well-being.

In the future, Guiyang will push hard to meet its goals for the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) – to achieve a high-speed economic growth rate, promote high-quality development and improve its residents' quality of life and standard of living.

To become a provincial capital with a dynamic economy, Guiyang will set out to develop more industrial companies, expand the scale of industry and improve its industrial parks.

What's more, the city will promote new urbanization, making city development plans oriented towards people – and make the metropolis healthier, safer and more suitable for living.

Guiyang will also develop its modern agricultural sector to boost rural revitalization, promote an integrated tourism industry and optimize its business environment. It will move to promote eco-friendly development, create a high-quality public service system and attract more people to work or run businesses in the city.
