Guizhou launches Eastern Data and Western Computing project

Southwest China's Guizhou province officially launched the "eastern data and western computing" project on Dec 22.

The project will allow Guizhou to make full use of its position as a South China demonstration data and computing resources transport center between Guizhou, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao area, Yangtze River delta region, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

According to the plan, a high-speed and low-delay optical transport network will be established along expressways and cover China's main cities. With the network, China will offer special data channels for financial and securities companies that require high-speed networks.

Guizhou BC&TV Information Network Co and Shanghai's Jucheng Enterprise Management Group Co plan to cooperate to construct and operate the network.
