Guiyang city and nearby Guian New Area – located in Southwest China's Guizhou province – will  open more public venues constructed and operated by government departments, schools and government-sponsored institutions by March of 2023.

By Nov 15, Guiyang and Guian had already opened 188 educational venues, 13 sports venues, 24 cultural venues, 341 parks, three venues of government-sponsored institutions and four venues of other kinds.

By Dec 1, Guiyang and Guian had opened another 380 educational venues with no entrance charge or at a low admission charge.

The initiative reportedly aims to share high-quality public resources with more people, allowing the public to have access to sports venues within 15-minute walk from their homes.
