During the ongoing Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, 139 volunteers from the Guizhou Vocational College of Economics and Business in Southwest China's Guizhou province are serving in Zhangjiakou, North China's Hebei province.

The volunteers are in charge of catering areas, resting areas, public commercial areas, and material dispatching and delivery at the National Ski Jumping Center, National Biathlon Center, the National Cross-country Center and a broadcast center in Zhangjiakou.

One month before the opening of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the Guizhou volunteers arrived in Zhangjiakou to prepare for the service in accordance with the requirements of COVID-19 prevention and control.

Almost all of the 139 volunteers were born in the 2000s, and the youngest just turned 18 this year. And if the cold weather in Zhangjiakou wasn’t enough, the volunteers also have to start working at 4 am.

Their service has won praise from the Organizing Committee of Olympic Games and athletes and journalists from all over the world. Some volunteers even received thank-you notes.

The volunteers will continue their service until the end of the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games.
