According to the Ministry of Education, 12 vocational schools in Southwest China's Guizhou province will be selected as pilot schools of the Sino German Advanced Vocational Education (SGAVE) project.

The project originated from the Sino-Germany Automotive Vocational Education project, which was implemented by the Ministry of Education, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Daimler and Porsche from 2010 to 2020.

The pilot school list shows that Anshun Technical College, Zunyi Vocational and Technical College, Guizhou Electronic Technology College, and Guizhou Industry Polytechnic College are nominated to become pilot schools for the automobile testing and maintenance technology majors.

The Guizhou Institute of Light Industry has been nominated to become a pilot school for the new energy vehicle technology major.

Guizhou Aerospace Vocational and Technical College, Guizhou Polytechnic of Construction, Guizhou Communications Polytechnic, Liupanshui Vocational and Technical College, and Guiyang Vocational and Technical College have been nominated to become pilot schools for the electromechanical integration technology major.

The mechanical manufacturing and automation major of Guizhou Equipment Manufacturing Polytechnic and the software technology major of Guiyang Vocational and Technical College have also been selected.

During the 10 years of the Sino-Germany Automotive Vocational Education project, Guizhou introduced Germany's dual education system for the development of vocational education.

In 2019, the Sino-Germany (Guiyang) Vocational Skills Training Center was launched at Guiyang Vocational and Technical College. The center is expected to become a platform for training high-quality and interdisciplinary talent.

In 2020, Guizhou Industry Polytechnic College introduced Germany's dual education system and established a Sino-Germany intelligent manufacturing training center.

In recent years, the Ministry of Education has also arranged for experts to review the progress of SGAVE projects at Guizhou's vocational schools to improve their cooperation and integration with companies.
