A look at Guizhou NPC deputies' suggestions in 2021

Guizhou's deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) have been observing people's lives, listening to people's opinions, and solving their problems through field research over the past year.

During the fourth session of the 13th NPC held in March last year, Guizhou's NPC deputies submitted 18 motions and 252 suggestions, all involving economic development, rural revitalization, digital economy strategy, ecological civilization construction, and improvement of people's living standards.

NPC deputy Huang Dongbing proposed at last year's session that the country should support Guizhou's highly-skilled talent training, and the suggestion was responded to by the National Development and Reform Commission.

The commission confirmed that the training of highly-skilled talent can improve employees' vocational skills and boost rural revitalization. The commission will cooperate with related government departments to enhance the cooperation of companies and universities, improve the training of industrial talent, promote vocational education, support the construction of practical public training bases, and encourage the sharing of vocational training resources.

NPC deputy Meng Pinghong's suggestion of constructing more high-standard farmlands submitted last year was quickly responded to by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

In 2021, the ministry's financial support for Guizhou's high-standard farmland construction increased by 13 percent year-on-year, and the fund is expected to keep increasing in the future.

The ministry also formulated plans and standards to improve production and enhance the disaster prevention abilities of farmlands.

In addition to Guizhou's economic development, NPC deputies are also concerned about people's livelihoods. About half of the suggestions submitted last year were related to education, medical treatment and rural revitalization.
