Guizhou takes measures to build industrial chain

Southwest China's Guizhou province is currently promoting a new model of industrialization, constructing industrial chains, building modern industrial systems, and stimulating demand for industrial products.

In 2021, Guizhou's industrial companies above designated size – those with annual revenue of more than 20 million yuan ($3.14 million) – achieved a sales-output ratio of 97 percent.

Since the beginning of last year, Guizhou's main exporters above designated size, such as Kweichow Moutai Co, Guizhou Phosphate Chemical Group, and Guizhou Tyre Co, have seen rapid growth in exports.

In 2021, the value of the exports of these main exporters reached 13.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.4 percent and accounting for 70 percent of Guizhou's total.

At the Baling heavy industry park in Guizhou's Xingren city, seven upstream and downstream companies involved in aluminum fabrication were attracted by the park's electrolytic aluminum manufacturers and consumers. In 2021, the park's total industrial output exceeded 10 billion yuan.

Xie Huiqiang, a professor at Guizhou University, said that to further improve the industrial supply chain, main suppliers and upstream and downstream companies should cooperate to create an industrial ecosystem.

As Guizhou's direct China-Europe freight trains have been operating for four months, more Guizhou-made goods such as tires, tea, electron devices and daily necessities are being exported.

Guizhou has also arranged for local industrial brands to attend national expos and seek investment. At the second Guiyang Industrial Expo held in 2021, Guizhou Chuanhen Chemical Corp attracted a new material cyclic industrial project, which is expected to be put into operation in May and achieve an annual production capacity of 200,000 metric tons of iron phosphate by the end of this year.
