Guizhou receives national support for 139 major projects

According to the recently-issued Opinions of the State Council on Supporting Guizhou in Blazing New Trails in the Development of the Western Region in the New Era, Southwest China's Guizhou province will be supported in the construction of 139 major projects.

In order to optimize its business environment, Guizhou will construct an all-in-one online government affairs service project.

To construct a beautiful countryside, the province will carry out projects involving water resource protection, water supply, electricity supply, internet network, living environment improvement, sewage treatment, and cultural protection.

Guizhou will give full play to the development of modern mountainous high-efficiency agriculture by reclaiming 28 million mu (1.87 million hectares) of high-standard farmlands, promote improved grain varieties, make mountainous farmlands suitable for mechanized production, and construct cold chain logistics facilities in producing areas.

To promote people-oriented urbanization, Guizhou will construct public facilities, improve its ability to prevent disasters and reduce damages, as well as renovate and upgrade city pipes.

It will also accelerate the construction of railways, expressways, shipping lanes, ports, national transportation hubs and airports to connect more closely with other provinces and cities and increase its level of opening-up.

To boost digital industrial chains, Guizhou will support the construction of big-data-related projects, computing power projects, industrial internet platforms, new infrastructure, and the digitalization of transportation and energy supply infrastructure.

It will also launch memorial halls and tourist routes related to the Red Army's history, improve the quality of major scenic spots, protect traditional handicraft art, and create brands for ethnic cultural creative productions and tourism.

To improve the quality of natural ecosystem, it will control rock desertification, prevent water and soil loss, protect and restore the environment in major mountainous areas and basins, improve the quality of forests, prevent and control pests, and protect rare wild animals and plants.

Guizhou will also launch various projects to prevent and control pollution, improve its ecological civilization pilot area system, encourage low-carbon and circular development, improve the career skills and incomes of employees, promote the high-quality development of education, provide better medical treatment services, improve the public service system, prevent and control floods, and improve its energy supply.
