Southwest China's Guizhou province has to date launched 401 big data and real economy integration benchmarking projects and 4,234 demonstration projects.

As China's first national big data comprehensive pilot area, it has also helped 8,485 companies start their integration and assisted 23,000 companies to connect with cloud platforms.

In recent years, Guizhou has seen marked improvements in its industrial digitalization. The in-depth integration of big data and the real economy is said to be steadily promoting the digitalization, networking and intelligentialization of Guizhou's real economy – laying a solid foundation for future digital development.

For example, after a potato planting area in Guizhou's Weining county applied a big data intelligent farm management system, costs were estimated to be cut while the output was increased.

However, Guizhou is still facing the problems of a low level of informatization among companies, a lack of investment in digital transformation and low economic benefits from big data and industry integration.

This year, Guizhou is aiming to help more than 2,000 real economy companies integrate with big data and promote the construction of industrial internet platforms.

Moving forwards, Guizhou will continue to accelerate its application of artificial intelligence, 5G and blockchain in the real economy, and promote the digitalization of traditional industry.
