The Shenzhou XIII mission crew gave a second science lecture from China's Tiangong space station on March 23. The lecture was watched by millions of students across the country, including those in Bijie, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

During the lecture, Chinese astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu conducted various science experiments to showcase unique physical phenomena under zero-gravity conditions.

In one experiment, Wang used a toy of Bing Dwen Dwen, the popular mascot of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, to show how objects float in a zero-gravity environment.

The crew also showed students two pieces of cutting-edge scientific equipment inside the space station.

Students in Bijie, Guizhou watched the lecture at the Bijie Science and Technology Museum and Shatu Town Middle School in Jinsha county.

Two students at Qixingguan District Second Experimental School and Shatu Town Middle School posed questions about sound transmission in a vacuum to astronomy experts during the question and answer session.

Through experiments and explanations by the astronauts, the students learned about the difference between space and earth and about the mysteries of outer space.

The Shenzhou XIII mission was launched on Oct 16, 2021 and is expected to last for six months.
