March signals tea-harvesting season in the tea garden owned by Guizhou Gui Tea Group Co in Jiangkou county, Tongren city, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The company is a leading producer of matcha raw materials. With fully automatic intelligent production lines, about 90 percent of production procedures are done by machines, significantly increasing production efficiency.

Established in 2012, the company is devoted to becoming modern and intelligent. In addition to introducing advanced manufacturing equipment from overseas, it has also cooperated with domestic and international research institutes and universities to make matcha production machines.

The company has applied for 13 patents in the past three years and has so far established 147,000 mu (9,800 hectares) of tea planting area that meets the standards of the European Union.

From tea planting to fine processing, the company follows strict international production standards every step of the way to guarantee food safety.

In 2020, the company received a certificate from the American Institute of Baking to further expand overseas markets. Gui Tea's matcha has been exported to more than 10 countries and regions such as the United States and Canada, and is applied in baking, beverages, medicine and cosmetics.

In the future, the company will improve its modern logistics system and mechanize tea planting and seek further cooperation with upstream and downstream companies to cope with the challenges brought about by the pandemic and the global economic crisis.
